TOM 3020 Project
Overview of the Class Project
TOM 3020 Managerial Statistics is a course focused on the application of statistical methods to support business decision-making, covering topics such as data collection, confidence interval estimation for means and proportions, hypothesis testing for one and two populations, one-way and two-way chi-square tests, simple and multiple linear regression, and analysis of variance. This semester, in Dr. Scott Little's class, students were required to complete a class project based on their lab assignments at the end of the semester. The labs were conducted using the Excel-free statistical data analysis tool. The project is a story with a common theme that runs through each lab and ties them together. This is a chance for the students to be creative, communicate their findings, and apply their knowledge to a hypothetical but realistic problem. It is also practiced in presenting their analysis findings clearly and in an organized manner.
For this Fall 2024 Semester, my students created a story on the World Series between the LA Dodgers and the New York Yankees, a timely subject. They included some animation on the slides.
