ÁùÉ«Íø

We are excited to share that ÁùÉ«Íø GeoWall Team won first place in GeoWall technical event at the 2021 Pacific Southwest ASCE student conference (PSWC) hosted by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The competition objective was to design a three-faced MSE wall using the least amount of reinforcement to support three different loading conditions: active earth pressure, vertical surcharge, and horizontally loaded piles. The GeoWall competition included a submission of a technical report, a live presentation, and a Q&A session that describe the experimental methods, engineering analysis, and the design processes of the MSE Wall. ÁùÉ«Íø team designed a three-faced MSE wall with a total reinforcement weight of 4.88g. ÁùÉ«Íø GeoWall team competed against 11 Pacific Southwest universities: CSUF, CSUN, LMU, UCI, CSULA, UH at Manoa, CSULB, UCLA, CBU, UCSD, and SDSU.
