ASI Rewarded for Creative Marketing Campaigns with 10 Addy Awards

The recently was recognized for creative excellence at the 2025 —also known as the ADDYs.

Held at the historic in Riverside the March 21 ceremony celebrated the outstanding marketing achievements of both industry professionals and students across the Inland Empire.

Made up of talented student creatives and professional staff, (Marketing, Design & Public Relations) is ASI’s full-service creative team, dedicated to elevating student experiences through dynamic campaigns, engaging content and impactful storytelling across campus. On behalf of ASI, MDPR submits creative work to industry competitions, providing student employees the opportunity to have their work professionally judged and critiqued—offering valuable recognition and helping them build strong portfolios.

Competing in the professional category alongside prominent organizations such as the city of Riverside, Ontario International Airport, IEHP and Loma Linda University Health, MDPR stood out—taking home 10 awards. Every MDPR submission earned recognition, receiving honors across gold, silver, and bronze categories.

This milestone is a testament to the hard work and creativity of MDPR’s entire team, with collaboration playing a key role in their success.

“When we found out the designs (submitted) won an ADDY, no one said, ‘This person won for their design,’” said Yesina Dorado, junior designer supervisor at ASI. “Instead, it was, ‘We won this!’—because everyone contributed in some way.”

ASI proudly embraces Cal Poly Pomona’s “Become by Doing” campaign—a bold reflection of the university’s commitment to hands-on, immersive learning that extends beyond the classroom. Departments like MDPR exemplify this philosophy by offering students real-world creative experience in marketing, design, and public relations. By nurturing student talent and aligning with ASI’s vision to engage every student, MDPR empowers future professionals to grow through doing, creating and leading.

“Through ASI, we’re giving students real-world, high-impact experiences that align with our purpose to transform lives,” said Kim Sumida, ASI associate director of marketing and strategic communications. “These wins don’t just represent awards — they represent future opportunities for our students after graduation and beyond.”

Earning awards in all 10 submitted categories is a testament to ASI’s mission of providing diverse, enriching experiences for students—especially those directly involved in these celebrated projects.

“These accomplishments are a reminder of what we’re capable of when we work together across teams toward a shared goal,” said Nicolette Mendez, design manager at ASI. “Seeing our student-driven, in-house work recognized at a professional level validates the talent, dedication, and creativity that exists within our department.”
