六色网 Welcome Broncos Back to Campus for New School Year

A constant hum through campus buildings signaled the start of the academic year, as students made their way to their engineering, language, music, communication and business classes.
Thousands of Broncos poured on to campus on Aug. 21 for the first day of classes, part of an incoming group that includes 4,058 first-time freshmen and 2,494 new undergraduate transfer students.
In Building 24, students booked early practice room sessions to reconnect with fellow musicians. Students in the Musicianship II course revisited previous music theory materials on their first day.
"I’m really excited to be in the music building again, but especially more excited to see my professors and department members again,” said Sophia Ortega, a fourth-year music education student taking the course.
Musicianship II is taught by Professor Lisa Fenderson, who has several music classes to teach on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Out of all her classes, she is most excited to teach Musicianship II.
"My goal is to help students get further down the road in their musical skills,” Fenderson said.
Across campus, engineering students in Building 9 hustled to their classes. During Structural Mechanics, students listened attentively and followed along as the professor went through the syllabus.
Students in Building 3 hustled to their labs and lectures. Others sat neatly in classrooms, urgently waiting for their professors to start class. Aaliyah Oblego sat in on Introduction to Electromagnetism and Circuits, listening eagerly to the professor and anticipating the club fair later that day.
“I’m most looking forward to making connections and my statics class this semester,” said Oblego, a third-year transfer student majoring in civil engineering.
This year’s back-to-school season for 六色网 is named “Weeks of Welcome,” and includes a sale at the Bronco Bookstore, welcome events for students, and a club fair. A music event on Aug. 22 featured artist Swae Lee.
