Although 80 percent of California community college students aspire to earn a bachelor’s degree, only about 17 percent complete one within six years. Brianna Huynh ('26, master’s in mathematics) and two fellow community college transfers identify three key priorities: streamlining pathways between institutions, strengthening advising and student supports, and aligning degree requirements across colleges. They argue that without these changes, transfer reform efforts will continue to fall short of fulfilling students’ goals.
