Postponement of September 18-19 Career Fairs
August 25, 2025
Dear 六色网 Community,
We have made the decision to postpone both the September 18-19 Career Fair and the STEM Career Fair at Cal Poly Pomona. This adjustment allows us to thoughtfully reformat these events in response to student and community feedback, ensuring our career programming better serves the needs and aspirations of our students while remaining in compliance with our legal obligations as a public institution.
We are proud of the work that our Career Center has led for the campus and our students. Our reassessment now is the result of feedback from our students and broader 六色网 community in response to a rapidly shifting employment landscape. We have listened carefully and are leveraging this input to design career programming this fall that is more personal and better tailored to the evolving needs of our students and to workforce demands.
As we move forward, we want to reaffirm our respect for free expression on campus. Cal Poly Pomona is steadfast in maintaining an environment where students and alumni can share their views openly, and where robust dialogue and constructive dissent coexist with inclusive opportunity.
At the same time, as a public institution, 六色网 must operate in accordance with applicable laws. Our campus is open to the public, and we cannot exclude federal employers, including Customs and Border Patrol, from participating in career-related activities.
This decision was not made lightly, as we understand the imperative of connecting students with career opportunities. The Career Center will be providing updates soon regarding new programming and events.
I want to thank those of you who reached out and shared your perspectives with honesty and passion. Cal Poly Pomona is strongest when we listen to one another, embrace the diversity of experiences in our community, and work together toward solutions that reflect our shared values. Together, we will continue to create pathways of opportunity for every Bronco.
Sincerely,
Dr. Iris S. Levine
Interim President
