For as long as he can remember, Andy has been captivated by how things work. As a child, he would take apart household appliances out of pure curiosity, not yet realizing that this fascination with mechanics would one day evolve into a purpose-driven career path. Now a mechanical engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona, he sees engineering not only as a problem-solving but also as a tool for change. His passion lies in robotics, with the goal of developing accessible technologies such as cost-effective prosthetics, mobile learning robots and assistive devices that empower individuals with disabilities. Inspired by his mother, whom he calls his greatest role model, he reflects, She taught me that no challenge is insurmountable, and no effort is too great when it means securing a better future for you and those you hold dear.” Guided by this lesson, he hopes to pursue graduate school and a career in robotics research and development, always driven by the belief that technology should build a future where no one is left behind.
