Blending a foundation in STEM with a passion for language, Jayani brings a distinctive academic trajectory to Cal Poly Pomona. With nine years of CAD experience, programming skills in multiple languages, and success as a VEX Robotics team manager competing at world championships, she developed strong technical, collaborative and leadership abilities early on. These experiences, along with her achievements in high school as a state-ranked wrestler who represented California at the national level, instilled a commitment to perseverance and excellence. Now pursuing a linguistics major, she is guided by curiosity and a desire to research how language intersects with emerging technologies like AI. Her academic interests focus on how large language models can influence language preservation, cultural diversity and equity in global contexts. As a College Corps Fellow and community tutor, she actively applies classroom learning in service to others. Looking ahead, Jayani aspires to graduate study, research, and a career as a professor dedicated to advancing understanding of language, technology and education.
