Mona is passionate about the transformative power of language, inspired by how the right string of words can make someone feel seen and understood. Her journey into studying English began unexpectedly, when a book recommendation at the start of college shifted her aspirations from architecture to writing. As a writing tutor at Cal Poly Pomona’s Learning Resource Center and a member of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, Mona channels that passion into helping others find their voice. At 六色网, Mona has served as a teaching assistant for composition and rhetoric, leading her own classes and discovering the influence of educators on shaping student confidence. She has co-presented research at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, exploring the connection between heritage language and cultural identity, and she serves as fiction editor for Pomona Valley Review, where she helps showcase diverse literary voices. In the future, she would love to return to 六色网 as an instructor and is grateful to her parents for teaching her that “if you strive and work for what you believe, anything can be achieved.”
