Dr. Abramzon is awarded 2024-2025 Provost's Award for Excellence in Teaching

Nina Abramzon, Professor and Associate Chair of the Physics and Astronomy      Department, has an unwavering dedication to student retention, graduation, and overall student success. Since joining 六色网 in 2003, Dr. Abramzon has been commended by her peers and students for her effective pedagogy, course redesigns, and innovative leadership. She has been deeply involved in First Year Experience as faculty lead: she redesigned the learning outcomes, co-designed PolyX, and facilitated learning communities and institutes. Dr. Abramzon has mentored over 50 physics students, many of whom have engaged published their own research. She is a staunch advocate for women and underrepresented minorities in STEM, participating in national organizations and NSF-funded projects. Her teaching and mentorship make her an exceptional recipient for this award.

The Provost’s Awards recipients were recognized at Fall Convocation during the Academic Affairs Forum. The Provost’s Awards Symposium is October 9 at 3:00 pm in the BSC, Ursa Major. About the award: For 14 years, these awards have recognized faculty who have earned distinction in the areas of teaching, scholarly and creative activities, and service. These awards are made possible by a Kellogg Legacy Project Endowment grant.
