Students can only join EOP during their first term time matriculating at a CSU. This means you need to have completed the application process through your CSU Apply portal and if offered admission to EOP, have submitted your EOP Participation Agreement by the established deadline. If you are a continued student in need of additonal support services, we can help you connect with campus partners and services that you may be interested in.
Any student who has a low income, may need academic assistance and meets other program admission criteria may be admitted through EOP. It is not an ethnically or race-based program.

No. Transferring community college students must submit an EOP application during the CSU admissions application process and follow the same procedures as other applicants. However, special consideration will be given to EOP&S students in an effort to enhance the transfer and graduation rates of these students. EOP&S and EOP are two different programs.

Applicants must demonstrate financial need to be considered for a fee waiver. Determination of eligibility will be made when applying to the university online at www2.calstate.edu/apply.
Cal Poly Pomona's EOP Program accepts applications for the fall and spring (transfer only) terms. And the priority deadline is currently December 2, 2024. The final deadline for the EOP Application submission
is January 15th. The deadline for the two letters of recommendation is January 31st. For spring term applicants, the EOP application deadline is August 31st and the letters of recommendation are also due August 31st.
Students must submit an online application through Cal State Apply. The EOP application is located in the Supplemental Information of the Cal State Apply.

The EOP application is submitted only once during the application admissions process. Once a student is accepted into EOP and enrolls in the university, the student will remain in EOP provided the conditions of the EOP Partnership Agreement are honored each term.
Only EOP-admitted students may receive the full benefits of the program and support services. This program is offered to historically low-income, first-generation (neither parent(s)/guardian has earned a bachelor’s degree), who have submitted a complete EOP Application the term they were admitted.
No. EOP students who qualify for financial aid may receive an EOP grant average of $600 per year. Priority is given to our incoming first-year and transfer students and then awarded to eligible continuing students. You may also read criteria/eligibility at EOP Grand & Scholarship. Students must complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Application and other documents as required by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.
No. Although EOP does not provide students with book vouchers, it offers an EOP Grant to eligible EOP students. If eligible this grant is applied to the student’s financial aid award. Priority registration is not available to EOP students at Cal Poly Pomona.
No. Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply for EOP during the application filing period and must also meet the EOP requirements. EOP works collaboratively with our campus partners to help you reach your potential. Consider applying and contacting the Disability Resource Center for any additional questions.
Students admitted into the EOP Program must meet all eligibility guidelines; historically low-income, first-generation (neither parent(s)/guardian has earned a bachelor’s degree), EOP income guidelines, California resident or qualify for an AB 540/2000 nonresident tuition exemption and a completed EOP application. *If a parent has earned a degree outside of the United States they need to indicate that and may qualify for an EOP Appeal for the term of admission.
