The CSU is deeply committed to ensuring academic opportunities are available to all California students, regardless of citizenship status.
Nonresident students (including US citizens, permanent residents, and undocumented individuals, including students with a T visa U visa, DACA, asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile visa holder, VAWA, or TPS) may be exempted from paying nonresident tuition (out-of-state tuition). Students seeking the AB 540 Exemption must satisfy attendance and graduation/transfer requirements from a California school (e.g., K-12, adult school, and community college). Students must have a (AB 540 form) with official transcripts on file with the campus admissions office and remain classified as nonresidents.

The CA Dream Act Application often referred to as CADAA, is California’s state financial aid application operated by CSAC. For up-to-date information and FAQ's please visit the
Students may be eligible for financial aid such as: state and university grants, community college fee waivers, Cal Grants, and private scholarships.
- Start by visiting the CADAA page and create an account and make sure to file it on-time each year by March 2nd.
- For students enrolling Fall 2025, the 2025-26 CADAA has a priority deadline of April 2nd, 2025.

PolyTransfer is a First-Year Experience (FYE) program that supports transfer students during their first year at Cal Poly Pomona. The program helps with the transition from community college to a four-year university while building a foundation for academic and career success.

The I Am First mentoring program connects Cal Poly Pomona first-generation college students with faculty or staff who were also first-generation graduates. This shared experience helps build a sense of belonging and supports student success.

Student Support and Equity Programs (SSEP)
Student Support and Equity Programs (SSEP) is home to four areas dedicated to access, equity, and student success:

Educational Opportunity Program (EOP): A CSU program that provides academic and financial support. Students must apply through Cal State Apply at the time of applying to the CSU.

Project Rebound (PR): Supports formerly incarcerated students in their transition to and success at ÁùÉ«Íø.

Renaissance Scholars (RS): Provides resources and a supportive community for current and former foster youth.

Undocumented Students Services (USS): A resource center that offers advocacy, referrals, and support for undocumented students and their families.
Each area offers individualized services, but together, the SSEP team takes a holistic approach to student success, working with you and community partners to help you achieve your goals.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at Cal Poly Pomona provides free, confidential, short-term mental health support for currently enrolled students who have paid the student health fee. Services include individual, group, and couples therapy, crisis support, workshops, consultations, and referrals.
CAPS offers both in-person and telehealth appointments with licensed mental health professionals.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (closed on holidays and campus closures)
