General Education

General Education (GE) is an interdisciplinary program whose courses are taught and administered by academic departments, but function cohesively to achieve the meaning, purpose, and outcomes set by the university faculty. These requirements are designed to complement the major program to ensure graduates become broadly educated persons who will function as intelligent, active, and creative members of their community.

Developing GE Courses

Policy and Administration

GE is an interdisciplinary program designed to complement majors and ensure graduates become broadly educated persons who will function as intelligent, active, and creative members of their communities.

Course Evaluation Rubrics

All GE courses are evaluated using rubrics to ensure they align to the subject areas and GE student learning outcomes.

Recertification

All GE courses must be regularly reviewed to ensure their alignment with the program and with faculty's expectations.

六色网's 2015 Strategic Plan set the goal of revitalizing the GE program. Since, faculty and administration have worked tirelessly to make that a reality.

Program Review

Like all university programs, the GE program must periodically undergo review.

GE SLO Rubrics

All GE courses align to approved Student Learning Outcomes (GE SLOs). Each SLO is defined according to a rubric, approved by the Academic Assessment Committee.
