From Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, to Thursday, June 5th, 2025, the Office of Academic Innovation Summer Conference will bring together faculty and staff from Cal Poly Pomona and beyond to explore "The AI-Driven Future of Higher Education and Work." This dynamic event will dive into the intersection of education and the evolving workforce, offering insightful keynotes, engaging panel discussions, and interactive workshops led by experts in education and workforce development. Participants will gain valuable strategies, build collaborative networks, and explore innovative approaches to preparing for an AI-driven future.

Joint Sessions

These joint sessions will provide faculty and staff with a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence and its broader implications in education, work, and society. Through expert presentations and a student panel discussion, attendees will explore key AI concepts, ethical considerations, policy challenges, and the evolving role of AI in higher education. The session will also highlight the CSU system’s initiatives and partnerships in AI research and implementation, offering insights into institutional strategies for AI integration.

AI In the Classroom

As artificial intelligence reshapes the educational landscape, faculty must navigate how to effectively integrate AI into their teaching while maintaining academic integrity and student engagement. This track will explore the evolving role of faculty in an AI-driven classroom, providing strategies for incorporating AI into assignments, activities, and pedagogy. Sessions will examine cognitive approaches to AI integration, its impact on interdisciplinary writing and writing instruction, and how AI can support faculty research.

AI Outside the Classroom

This track explores how AI can enhance professional efficiency, streamline workflows, and support institutional goals. Attendees will gain insights into campus expectations for AI use, strategies to prepare students for an AI-driven workforce, and the importance of AI literacy training for faculty, staff, and students.

It’s a two-day event exploring AI’s impact on higher education and the workforce, featuring keynotes, panels, and workshops.

The conference will be held on June 4-5, 2025, from 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM at Cal Poly Pomona, Building 162, Room 1001.

General Admission is $225 (ends May 22nd at 5 pm), with an Early Bird rate of $175 available until May 2nd at 5 PM.

Yes! The Office of Academic Innovation and NSF INVEST grant will cover registration costs for ÁùÉ«Íø faculty and staff.
