CEIS Strategic Planning Process 2024-2025
August 2025 Update: Continued Journey Toward a Shared Vision
Dear CEIS Community,
I’m excited to share an update on our shared journey toward creating the first strategic plan for the College of Education and Integrative Studies (CEIS). Since launching our strategic planning journey last year, CEIS has continued to evolve—guided by shared values, aspirations, interdisciplinarity, and a deep commitment to justice-centered education.
Throughout the 2024–2025 academic year, we engaged faculty, staff, and district partners through collaborative events and feedback opportunities that laid the foundation for what’s next. We also began making inroads to include student voice as a more formal part of the process moving forward.
From these dialogues, five key strategic goals have taken shape:
- Strengthen student support systems.
- Cultivate a culture of care, ethical responsibility and professional growth.
- Expand and promote collaboration, community-building and partnerships.
- Foster justice, equity, and belonging across environmental and human communities.
- Elevate CEIS’s identity through interdisciplinary and transformative approaches.
We invite you to explore the first draft containing goals, objectives, initiatives, key action items, and metrics which emerged as a result of initial faculty and staff feedback during AY 24-25:
Looking ahead to Fall 2025, we will open new opportunities for our entire community to help fine-tune our strategic goals and priorities. This will include time and space to review, respond to, and shape the next draft of the plan with the intent of finalizing by Spring 2026.
This plan is a living document—meant to grow, shift, and reflect who we are and who we are becoming.
