Financing your MA in English

Students who have taken a course in pedagogy at the graduate level are eligible to apply for a funded Teaching Associate (TA) position. These positions are offered in Literature, Rhetoric & Composition, and TESOL, giving students valuable professional experience as well as funding for their education. The college and University offer a number of grants and scholarships to support students through their education:

  • The President's Scholarship is an award for academic success.
  • The Paula Sandoval Memorial Scholarship is designed for students who have overcome significant hardships to complete their degrees.
  • The Shana Y. Wang Scholarship supports students active in their communities and interested in pursuing a teaching credential.
  • The Conference Presentation Scholarship has monthly deadlines to provide financial support to students attending conferences.
  • The  provides loans and loan forgiveness to students interested in doctoral programs.
  • The  supports students who experience economic or educational disadvantages to pursue doctoral work.
