Chris says that STS has been helpful regarding topics related to policy writing (fair use and responsible use of technology), stakeholder management (balancing concerns, tradeoffs, priorities), and system architecting (who is the system for, what are potential emergent behaviors, and how the development of the technology ultimately affect the world). He says, “it turns out, STS is one of the most desired forms of knowledge at the system level (all the topics of SDGs, stakeholder management, ethics, standard operation procedures, e.g., require STS skills more than technical skills).
