Science, Technology, and Society Minor
A Broader Perspective for Scientists and Technologists
The STS Minor provides students who are intending to be scientists or technologists (such as software engineers, medical technologists, and engineers) with a sense of how science and technology exists in a broader human context.
The STS Minor's interdisciplinary approach to science and technology provides background enabling scientists and technologists better understand the goals and methods of co-workers such as accountants, human resource professionals, compliance officers, and lawyers, and to make better use of 'soft skills' like communication, adaptability, and non-technical problem solving in the workplace.
