STS Program Learning Outcomes
- Students have facility with scientific concepts and scientific methods of reasoning;
- Students are proficient in critical thinking;
- Students are proficient in written and oral communication;
- Students are able to contextualize science and technology in order to identify, analyze, and influence the interrelation between science and society;
- Students are proficient in research skills.
The Program Learning Outcomes for the AI Ethics and Society are the same as those for the STS Major.

What are Program Learning Outcomes?
Program Learning Outcomes are broadly stated goals that are core to the mission of a program. The STS Program Learning Outcomes include valuable skills transferrable to work in many other disciplines (PLOs 2., 3., and 5.), or structured knowledge crucial for solving any problem that arises from the interrelation between science, technology, and society (PLOs 1. and 4.).
