Student Employment

The Department of Theatre and New Dance also rents the theater facility to campus organizations, student clubs and clients from the local community. Students with technical skills are employed to work these events earning money and gaining hands-on experience running a variety of live events. Students without technical skills can also become part of the Front of House staff working as ushers or house managers.

Apply for a Center Theatre Group internship and develop essential workforce skills by studying and learning alongside professionals. Get hands-on experience in arts management at CTG, one of the nation’s most vibrant non-profit theatres, with two stages in downtown Los Angeles—the Ahmanson Theatre and the Mark Taper Forum—and one in Culver City, the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

In 2000, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors established the Arts Internship Program, which provides internships for nonprofit performing, presenting, film, media, literary, municipal arts, social justice and social service nonprofit organizations as a companion program to the Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship Program, which provides internships to museums and visual arts organizations. The purpose of the County’s program is to provide undergraduate students with meaningful on-the-job training and experience working in nonprofit arts organizations. Opportunities open up every year in April!
