Accessible Furniture
Overview
Accessible furniture may be provided to students for whom standard classroom desks and chairs are inaccessible due to a physical disability. Examples of accessible furniture may include padded or supported seating and folding or standing tables.
Steps to Having Accessible Furniture Placed in Classroom
- Student submits an Accommodation Request through and selects furniture needed for each class
- DRC will arrange for accessible furniture to be placed in the classroom. Sometimes furniture is not permanently set-up and is folded and locked somewhere in the classroom.
- DRC will email the student the combination lock code once furniture is placed in classroom
- Student locks assigned furniture after each class (when applicable)
