Accessible Furniture

Overview

Accessible furniture may be provided to students for whom standard classroom desks and chairs are inaccessible due to a physical disability. Examples of accessible furniture may include padded or supported seating and folding or standing tables.

Steps to Having Accessible Furniture Placed in Classroom

  1. Student submits an Accommodation Request through  and selects furniture needed for each class
  2. DRC will arrange for accessible furniture to be placed in the classroom. Sometimes furniture is not permanently set-up and is folded and locked somewhere in the classroom.
  3. DRC will email the student the combination lock code once furniture is placed in classroom
  4. Student locks assigned furniture after each class (when applicable)
