ÁùÉ«ÍøMLA Culminating Experience Master Project Credit Policy
Procedure for Citing and Use of Studio Work
If your organization is interested in citing or using work produced by the ÁùÉ«ÍøMLA Culminating Experience in a grant proposal or related funding activity, please note the following procedures. For questions or to initiate a formal request, please contact the studio faculty advisor Dr. Weimin Li (wli@cpp.edu)
Credit (Essential)
If citing the report (without duplicating or reproducing materials), citation must be used. The following is an example. You can also find citation details on each project's page.
ÁùÉ«ÍøMLA LEAD Studio. (2025). Beyond the Channel: Connecting Water, Land, and Community Along the Arroyo Seco. Faculty Advisors: Li, Weimin & Hunter, N. Jade. Students: Nicole Lee, Chris Murphy, Francisco Ojeda, and Sarah Ouvray. Community Partner: City of Pasadena, Parks and Recreation Department. Department of Landscape Architecture, ÁùÉ«Íø, Pomona, CA, United States.
Proper attribution is required in all written and visual materials where the studio’s work is referenced.
Permission for Use of Report Text, Illustrations, and Data (Critical)
Organizations must request formal permission to use any part of the report, visuals, and information (e.g., maps, illustrations, graphics, data). Use of these materials, even for non-commercial purposes, requires written acknowledgment and approval.
If the materials will be included in grant proposals, funding applications, promotional content, or commercial purposes, the organization must:
1. Obtain permission from both the faculty advisors and student authors. Faculty will facilitate the authorization from all authoring parties. A permission form will be signed by faculty and students if everyone agrees to issue the permission.
2. Negotiate an agreement outlining how credit will be given and how financial compensation and support for the program will be addressed in the event that grant funding is awarded.
Funded Collaboration and/or Donation (Encouraged):
We encourage organizations to:
1. Include the Master of Landscape Architecture program as a named collaborator in grant proposals.
2. Allocate a budget line in proposals to cover cost for current work done by students or support future involvement of students from the ÁùÉ«ÍøMLA program.
3. Consider making a donation to the program to gain full access to the project’s materials and the donation will be used to support ongoing student work and educational experiences.
Your support helps us continue to educate emerging professionals while advancing impactful community design projects.
