Annette Koh's research and practice is focused on placemaking and the politics of public participation.

Community Planning Studio (URP 4310/4320)

The 2019-20 Community Planning Studio will create planning education workshops and educational materials to increase community engagement in the , in partnership with Los Angeles County's Department of Regional Planning.

The 2018-2019 Community Planning Studio students developed a Planning 101 module for geography students at Workman High School in the City of Industry that included a pre-activity on the area's historical context, short videos on key concepts, and other student-centered materials. Students also provided interview and research support for the  project, and designed other methods of public engagement in planning.
