About Me

I am an Assistant Professor in the  at  (Cal Poly Pomona). I earned a B.S. in Computer Science from , Brazil (2001), an especialization in Software Quality Assurance and Management from , Brazil (2013), a M.S. in Computer Science from , Brazil (2013), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from , USA (2020), where I proposed a hacker-centric perspective to empower cyber-defense. After defending my Ph.D. dissertation in April 2020, I joined Cal Poly Pomona in Fall 2020. I have also worked from 2001 until 2010 in my own software factory , where my team designed custom-built, requirements-oriented, high-performance software solutions for different type of companies.                                                                   

My current research interests are in the proactive cyber-threat intelligence area, where I apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, and social network ananlysis into cybersecurity to predict future cyber-threats against organizations. I am also the director of the Cyber Adaptive Learning Systems Laboratory (CALSys Lab) at Cal Poly Pomona. It usually offers research assistant positions for undergraduate and graduate students interested in gaining real-world research experience.
