About Me

Dr. Sharonda Bishop is a lecturer at the College of Business Administration at Cal Poly Pomona. She holds a bachelor's degree from Cornell University in Hospitality Administration, an MHRD from Claremont Graduate School, and received her DBA from DePaul University. Dr. Bishop is a business owner, founding Bishop Consulting in 2018, a Human Resources Consulting and Training firm serving Southern California. She possesses over 25 years of human resources, payroll, and training experience working with employees and managers in various industries, including hospitality, engineering, and construction, honing their communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. In addition to Cal Poly Pomona, she teaches in professional certification programs at the College of Professional and Global Education at Cal Poly, UCR Extension, and the Global Campus at SDSU. An active member of her community, she has served in multiple board positions for Inland Valley Hope Partners (www.inlandvalleyhopepartners.org), an organization that serves 18,00 meals annually to no and low-income individuals, and PIHRA (www.pihra.org) an organization that supports human resource professionals in the Inland Empire.

Research

Dr. Bishop's research interests connects with issues and outcomes relating to management and includes an emphasis on Human Resources. Her dissertation topic focused on the impact of CEO narcissism on workplace diversity. Dr. Bishop has several articles in progress regarding articles on identify in young leaders, employee voice, and trust in leadership.
