In this lab, we believe science is for everyone, and I am extremely invested in fostering an inclusive, equitable, supportive and accessible lab environment through the following actions:
1. Education and Training: Learning about implicit biases and privileges that historically create barriers for underrepresented groups in STEM. Access to available resources to enable awareness and frequent discussions centered around creating an equitable and diverse environment. 2. Recruitment: Lab openings will be advertised and follow an application process to ensure all students at all stages of their career have access to available positions. 3. Reflection: Advocating for and creating a safe and open space to discuss strategies to improve lab culture and how to implement our ideas effectively.
