Gradescope Platform Maintenance

Summary: Gradescope will perform maintenance of Turnitin, their plagiarism-prevention service, along with the rest of their platform on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What does this mean for you? All services, including the Gradescope website, mobile app, and Canvas integrations, will be unavailable.

Unavailable services include:

MATLAB Computer Lab Upgrades

Summary: The Division of Information Technology, Client Services department, has begun to upgrade over 600 MATLAB computer lab workstations ahead of the Fall 2025 semester. The following locations will be upgraded through, August 20, 2025.

• College of Science: Lab locations 3-2011, 3-2117, and 8-147.
• College of Engineering: Lab locations 9-111, 9-119, 9-147, 9-205, 9-253, 9-409, 9-431, 9-435, 9-503, 9-507, 9-523, 13-1229, 17-1467, 17-1628, 17-1671, 17-2103, 17-2107, 17-2236, 17-2646, 17-2654, 17-2660, 17-2664, and 17-2670.

What does this mean for you? All computer lab workstations featuring MATLAB will be upgraded to version R2025a. Users will be prompted to or create a MathWorks account using 2-step verification. The experience is similar to launching Adobe Creative Cloud apps on lab computers.

Virtual Software Lab Maintenance

Summary: The Division of Information Technology will perform maintenance on the Virtual Software Lab ahead of the fall semester on Monday, August 18. No disruption of service is anticipated.

What does this mean for you? ÁùÉ«Íø's Virtual Software Lab provides students and faculty with the flexibility to use specialized academic software in their web browser; these applications would typically only be available in on-campus computer labs. Each lab is specialized for general use, graphics, and engineering. Visit the Virtual Software Lab for more information.

Project Management Community of Practice for Faculty and Staff

The IT, Project Management Office is excited to announce that registration for the ÁùÉ«Íø Project Management Community of Practice (PMCoP) is now open for the fall. The PMCoP is a group for ÁùÉ«Íø employees interested in project management to share ideas, experiences, and best practices. This group benefits anyone involved in project work by providing learning opportunities, networking, resources, and updates on industry trends.

25Live Training for Faculty and Staff

25Live is a web-based event platform that optimizes campus space usage and provides tools for collaborative scheduling of classrooms, conference rooms, outdoor spaces, and multi-purpose rooms.

August 13, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., and on demand following that time, staff and faculty can , create searches for rooms, request event space, and manage your existing reservations in this one-hour training session.
