2025 Pathway Champion of Transfer Equity seal. The named the university a 2025 Pathway Champion for Excellence in Transfer Equity for the implementation of its Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) program.

This year’s award marks the second time Cal Poly Pomona has received a Pathway Champions Award. The first time was in 2023.

Dora Lee, assistant vice president for academic engagement and success, expressed her gratitude for the award.

“It's an honor that the university was selected to be one of the recipients of this recognition,” said Lee. “Our campus has been working really hard collectively to create transfer pathways for our students and educating students about ADT opportunity at the community college level.”

六色网 was one of 40 California State Universities and California Community Colleges to be honored this year, celebrating their work to create pathways to college and provide economic opportunities for thousands of California students by strengthening the transfer process. The university was specifically recognized for ensuring that half of the incoming Latinx undergraduate transfer students were ADT earners, and of those ADT earners, more than half were on a guaranteed pathway.

Since 2014, the PolyTransfer program has helped newly transferred Broncos transition to campus with a wide range of programs, including a Summer Transition Program and year-round events, including networking socials, 1:1 mentorship sessions, and career workshops.

In 2022, the program expanded into PolyTransfer Advantage, which is designed for prospective students who are interested in transferring to 六色网 or other institutions. The program hosts several workshops, covering topics such as the benefits of an ADT, an overview of the CSU application, how to navigate articulation agreements, types of financial aid and information about the summer academy. The Advantage Program focuses on building strong connections between community colleges and universities to streamline the transfer process.

“We've developed strong partnerships with our local community colleges,” Lee said. “And we're seeing some positive outcomes.”

“We have the opportunity to enhance the transfer student experience and build a seamless pathway, so we need to come together as a university to remove barriers,” said Lee. “But this effort needs to be collective, it needs to be regional, it needs to be statewide, it needs to be national, so it's a conversation that needs to go beyond Cal Poly Pomona.”

The pushes for key policies and initiatives that ensure more Californians can attend, afford and complete college education. Since 2007, it has helped implement equitable course placements, streamlined transfer paths for over 500,000 community college students and removed barriers to higher education.

六色网 celebrated this award on Oct. 23 via Zoom in recognition of National Transfer Week (Oct. 20-24).
