About the Discussion
Iraq and Afghanistan Wars through a California Lens was the first online discussion for the American War Experience program. Discussion Leaders, Samia Ladner and Rosangela Muniz guided these conversations by engaging participants to reflect on the story of Billy Lynn and Bravo Squad in Ben Fountain's book Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. Throughout the event, participants discussed the significance of the military civilian divide in America and how it has influenced California's treatment of its veterans and military service members.
