About

At the Center for Cyber Risk, we provide students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of ways. There are numerous student clubs that we support on campus focusing on different aspects of cybersecurity.

Student Clubs:

  • Security Operations Center(SOC) - Focuses on providing experience in security operations, incident response and security monitoring. Students gain hands-on experience with working with a SIEM to monitor live data from the data center.
  • Forensics And Security Technology(FAST) - Focuses on providing experience in computer forensics and malware. Students attend weekly presentation, workshops and security conferences to network with professionals in the industry. 
  • Students With an Interest for Future Technology(SWIFT) - Focuses on providing a wide breadth of cybersecurity experience via weekly presentations and hands-on workshops. Students also compete in nationally renown competitions such as NCAE, CyberForce, NCL, CCDC and CPTC.
  • Management Information Systems Student Association(MISSA) Focuses on brining together students and IT professionals, with the purpose of exposing students to the various fields in Information Technology. Students get to network with industry professionals attend workshops. MISSA also organizes and hosts the annual ITC competition.
