This talk explores how students are using and perceiving generative AI tools like ChatGPT in education. It examines barriers—both societal and institutional—that affect access and attitudes, highlighting existing disparities. Based on research with U.S. college students, the discussion will focus on how educators can promote equitable and inclusive AI use in learning.

Algorithmic Identities? Race, Gender, and Power in AI and Social Media

This event was a great success, with a larger-than-expected turnout and engaging discussions. Two outstanding speakers shared insightful perspectives on AI and social media, exploring critical questions about power and privilege, gender narratives in online wellness discourse, and the harms of perceived AI neutrality.
