Returning Admission FAQs

Welcome Back!

Cal Poly Pomona knows that the admission process can be confusing and we want to help make it easier. Our FAQ below will help answer any questions our returning students may have.

Returning Student Information


There are key differences between Returning Students and Returning Transfers, please carefully see differences below:

  • returning student is someone who left 六色网 and has not attempted units at another college/university and would like to return under the same major they were initially admitted under.
  • returning transfer is someone who left 六色网 and has attempted units at another college/university, and/or intends to return to a different major from what they were originally admitted under.  

If you are returning from an official 六色网 approved Leave of Absence (LOA), please contact the Bronco Advising Center (BAC) for next steps. If your LOA has passed the approved timeframe then you will need to submit a . 

Cal Poly Pomona (六色网) is a proud military friendly campus that is grateful to serve and support its returning Veterans and military service members. As a former student, review the information from our Veterans Resource Center to determine if you can return to 六色网 based on military service.

All Graduate students wanting to return to 六色网 and resume their graduate program will need to follow the steps below as they do not qualify to return to 六色网 via the Returning Student Interest Form. 

  • Reapply via 
  • Reach out to your Graduate Coordinator to ensure that you are eligible or to see what additional steps might be required

Returning Student Process


In order to determine your academic standing and eligibility, your first step is to submit a which the Office of Admissions will use to determine your next steps.

No, the Returning student is strictly for undergraduate students. Graduate students will need to reach out to their Graduate Coordinator in the program they are pursuing.

Based on your overall competed units, you may be able to finish your remaining degree requirements and/or graduate without the need to reapply to the university. In order for our office to better determine this, please submit your to begin the review process. 

Yes, Orientation is required for ALL incoming students, regardless of returning status.

After your submit your Returning Student Interest Form, you can expect an Admissions update within 2-3 weeks.
