B.M. Performance | For Current Students
Take the Stage with Confidence, Skill, and Purpose
In the B.M. Performance Option, you’ll refine your technique, expand your artistry, and prepare for life as a professional musician. At Cal Poly Pomona, performance isn’t just about what happens on stage—it’s about the process, the practice, and the people who support your growth.
You’ll deepen your understanding of musicianship through one-on-one lessons, ensemble experiences, and critical listening across styles and traditions. From classical to contemporary, you’ll engage with a wide-ranging repertoire that reflects today’s musical landscape.
Whether your goal is a performance career, graduate study, or teaching, this program gives you the tools to perform with skill and confidence—and to inspire others along the way.
Transferring Into the B.M. Performance Option
Current music students who enter under another option, such as General Studies, can transfer into the B.M. in Performance by completing an audition on their principal instrument or voice. Auditions follow specific repertoire guidelines and should showcase a range of styles. Contact one of the Faculty Advisors listed below for more information.
